“Window Exchange” (working title) is a project in which I collaborate with art spaces and individual artists to exchange our current views for one another. The above documentation is from the exhibition, An Annual Affair, taking place in May of 2016 when I connected Basement Gallery Oakland to the West Chelsea Arts Building in Manhattan by blacking out the existing window and projecting live streaming video from Oakland, CA in it’s place, literally replacing their view with mine. These virtual openings offer a chance to bear witness to a small part of another life while acknowledging societal a shift toward the replacement of direct experiences with digitally mediate ones.
