Come Closer is the latest in my decades long series of static electricity sculptures that examine frailty, urgency, and longing. Using the physics of electricity to highlight a stone urge to connect and be grounded, the piece is designed to resemble a beating plus or a delicate emotional connection.
In an increasingly mediated technological society it's too easy for individuals to become isolated. These works examine the relationship between human connection, intimacy, and mental health.
